What Is Ataxia?

Ataxia is an umbrella term for over 100 neurological conditions. It describes a lack of co-ordination when a person attempts to do something voluntarily, and can ultimately affect speech, balance, the ability to walk, swallow food and drink, write and even blink. There is no cure for ataxia, but treatments can help to improve certain symptoms.
